Neurochemistry Summer School 2016

The Neurochemistry Summer School (Neurochemistry 3hp) will take place at Nimbus Gård, Öckerö June 2-4, 2016.
The course is a satellite event to the Monitoring Molecules in Neuroscience 2016 conference to facilitate interaction with invited speakers as well as foreign graduate students. Students attending the Neurochemistry course can receive 3 ECTS credits for attending. The preliminary program includes the following topics:

Neurotransmitters and Neuropeptides
Neuroanatomy
Neuronal Signalling and Electrophysiology
Neurodegenerative Diseases (incl. Alzheimer’s and Parkinsons disease) – Pathology and Animal Models
Addiction – Pathology and Animal Models
Electrochemical Tools for Neurotransmitter Detection
Microdialysis
Biosensors
Mass Spectrometry
Clinical Mass Spectrometry and Biomarker Discovery
Metabolomics
Proteomics (incl. Phosphoproteomics and Glycomics)

Invited lecturers include: Malin Andersson (Neurotoxicology, Uppsala Univ.), Stina Syvänen (Mol. Geriatrics, Uppsala Univ.), Dag Sehlin (Mol.Geriadrics, Uppsala Univ.), Carina Sihlbom (Sahlgrenska Proteomics Lab), Alastair Ross (Metabolomics, Chalmers), Henrik Rydberg (Clinical Chemistry, Sahlgrenska Hospital), Frances Edwards (Neuroscience Physiology Pharmacology, UCL).
